Description : Arran or the Isle of Arran (Scots Gaelic: Eilean Arainn) is the largest island in the Firth Clyde, Scotland, and with an area of 432 square km (167 square miles) is the seventh largest Scottish island. This is in North Ayrshire unitary council area and the 2001 census had a population of 5058 inhabitants. Although commonly associated with the Hebrides, which shares much in common culturally and physically, the last islands situated in the north and west outside of Kintyre.
